2016 Beauty favourites.

2016 was a great year for my makeup collection. As I continued to develop my blog, I found that my eyes were opened to so many great products and brands. I probably spent way too much on makeup and beauty products this year, but que sera. Instead of doing December favourites, I thought I’d do a collective post of the top products that have firmly planted their feet in my stash. This is in no particular order either, as I couldn’t possibly do that!

The first product is the Models Own Barely There eye shadow palette. This is a stunning neutrals palette with a mix of mattes and shimmers. I’ve created so many looks with this as it’s so versatile. You can easily create a soft daytime look or a more dramatic evening look. All the shades blend effortlessly, they’re highly pigmented and last all day. I cannot fault this whatsoever.

Next up are my two favourite lipsticks of the year, I couldn’t narrow it down to any less than two! They have to be the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin and the L’Oreal Paris Gold Obsession in Pink Gold. I know neither of these are particularly bold or out there, but I’ve used these more than any others by far.The Jeffree Star lipstick is one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks I’ve ever tried, and the L’Oreal Paris Gold Obsession is just perfect for giving a beautiful subtle pop of colour.

Next, I have to give props to the insanely brilliant RCMA No Color Powder. I did a full review of the product here but to summarise, it’s the tits. It’s a translucent powder that doesn’t leave a white cast, keeps your makeup looking perfect all day and is just an absolute dream. This has fast become a staple part of my makeup routine.

And last but not least, as you know, I have dry skin and I’m constantly on the lookout for products that will buff away any dry patches and also help to keep them at bay. I found what I like to call a miracle combo, two products that when used together seem to make my skin look so fresh, dewy and moisturised. They’re the Nip & Fab glycolic cleansing fix and the Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub Of All. The Nip & Fab is a foaming, exfoliating face wash. I’ve always been a little sceptical of a face wash having exfoliating properties but this one absolutely does. I’m actually going to do a full review of it soon as I’m so impressed. The Soap & Glory scrub is a gorgeous creamy, gentle face scrub which quite simply does the job. It doesn’t dry my skin out like a lot of scrubs tend to which I also love.

So these are my top products of 2016. I focused heavily on eye shadows and lipsticks last year, it’s safe to say my collection is now heaving! This year I want to find the best foundations out there and take a little break from buying so much lipstick…probs not though. Soz.

Which products did you love last year? I’d love to hear from you!
